In this week's #DataTalk, we chat with Dr. Rebecca Pope, who is transitioning to a new role at Roche as their UK Digital & Data Science Innovation Lead. In today's episode, Rebecca talks about her career journey as she decided to become a data scientist after studying neuroscience, she gives advice to teens considering a STEM career path, and she discusses ways to support LGBTQ+ colleagues beyond pride month.

Dr. Rebecca Pope (she/her) is a Clinical Neuroscientist and previous Director of Data Science & AI for KPMG UK. In July, Rebecca will be joining the global biotechnology healthcare company, Roche as their ‘UK Digital & Data Science Innovation Lead;' working with an ecosystem of partners towards personalized healthcare within Oncology and Rare Diseases. Rebecca is a regular keynote speaker at international conferences, and she was voted as ‘The Most Influential Women in UK Tech' in 2019 and 2020. Rebecca has published a number of academic research papers, written several scientific commentaries in The Times and The Guardian, and is the recipient of National awards for her research. Rebecca is a passionate advocate of diversity and inclusion. She is an active member of a number of networks that encourage an inclusive environment where everyone feels empowered.
